Non-Scouting Awards

These are awards which are not part of the Scout Association's progressive training programme,
but are highly recommended by the association as a whole.

Details included in this section are in relation to:

Duke of Edinburgh's Award
An award for the 14-25 age range, which has three distinct levels of attainment
This can be run in conjunction with Explorer & Network Scout Training Awards

Adventure Service Challenge
The ASC scheme is complete in itself. It is also designed to prepare young people for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. The DoE Award recommends ASC for that purpose, and this scheme is ideal to run alongside Cub (Chief Scouts Silver Award) & Scout (Chief Scouts Gold Award) Programmes.

John Muir Award
An award for any age range, which has three distinct levels of attainment, to compliment DofE or Scout Training Packages. This can easily be run in conjunction with the Expedition section of the Duke of Edinburgh's or Scout Training Awards

Discovery Award
An award for the 50+ age range, which has three distinct levels of attainment
This can be run in conjunction with the John Muir Award

National Navigation Award
The National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) is a personal performance, non-competitive, incentive scheme for all ages.Training and Assessment in Ordnance Survey maps of 1:25,000 or 1:50,000 scale or orienteering maps of 1:10,000 or 1:15,000 scale.

V - Volunteering
This is designed to compliment exsisting programmes, by linking volunteering together and create a log of time given to others; and thus reward the volunteer with certificates relating to the time given.
