Carrots Roadshow

A Great Day was had by nearly 600 Beaver Scouts, Leaders, Helpers and others at Nine Ashes on Sunday 29th June. With activities ranging from Rock Climbing to Waterslides, and from Bungee Running to Smoothy Drink making, there was something for everyone. In this image of 'Carrots Roadshow', Beaver Scouts from 2nd Falmouth, 2nd Saltash and 1st Lifton can be seen joining in with the fun.

The concept of the Beaver Scout Fun Day is based upon the Gilwell Fun Days. We know some colonies in Cornwall have been to the Gilwell Fun Days and have had a great time. However, there are many of you who haven't and we know the travelling can be difficult. As a result we created our own fun day this year with a taster of the sort of activities you can undertake at Gilwell but on a more local level. A fun day themed on the Olympics to include 4 zones each based around looking after ourselves and sport. Beaver Scouts had an opportunity to undertake some challenging activities such as climbing, archery, zip wires and also make smoothies, fruit kebabs and try their hand at water pistols and making origami sail boats to race, to new a few activities.
