Streetsafe Project

Members of the CSFST have been involved in the Newquay Streetsafe Project throughout the summer period. The project is a joint initiative between the Council, the Police, SWAST and St.John's Ambulance. The CSFST have provided staffing every Friday and Saturday night accross the 22 duties the project has run, and two thirds of the volunteer staffing has been by the Fellowship. Operating between 9pm and 3am on the busy summer weekends, the project dealt with 180 clients, with various issues from Injuries to being Intoxicated. This number of clients indicates an increase of 65 on last year, and 18 on the previous highest total acheived in 2006. Overall this kind of project shows how a Scout fellowship can work in partnership with other agencies for the benefit of a local community.
