News from West Caradon District

 

Liskeard and St Neot

Liskeard and St Neot scout groups join together for a family camp at 9 ashes. There were many activities including Climbing and Rifle shooting.

 

 

Boundary Reviews

The Boundary reviews for the Bodmin, Bude & Launceston, Mount Edgcumbe and West Caradon Districts have now been completed. These reviews been ongoing since last November, and following District and GSL meetings, letters were sent to 237 leaders across the four Districts. The information gained from the meetings, and the responses of these letters has been assessed, and a formal report forwarded to the County Commissioner by the review team. Following this report, a presentation was made to the County Executive Committee on the 18th March, with proposals by the County Commissioner. The results of the County Executive Committee's decision has been made known to the respective Districts Commissioners, and more information will be posted on this website on 5th April.

 

The Giant Sleepover!

6 Beaver Scout Colonies from West Caradon District: Callington, Liskeard, Linkinhorne, Menheniot, Stoke Climsland and St. Neot, joined together for the 'Giant Sleepover', at Menheniot Parish Hall - totalling 46 Beavers & 14 Adults.
They did a bit of Karaoke, parachute games, wide games, watched a film, football 'keepy uppy' & the Aqua Fresh toothbrushing challenge!

1st Callington, 1st Linkinhorne, 1st Liskeard, 1st St.Neot and 1st Stoke Climsland Groups attended the Sunrise@eden event on 1st August 2007.

 

Colliford Lake Day

The District Centenary Event Activity day at Colliford Lake on Saturday 16th June was a great success. With free run of the park, the event also featured a camp fire, and with good weather and 350 attending, things could not have been better. Those attending included:1st Pensilva, 1st Bude, 3rd Bude (Jacobstowe), 3rd Bodmin (Zeus), 5th Newquay, 1st Stoke Climsland Explorers, 2nd Saltash, 2nd Torpoint, 1st Linkinhorne, 1st Tamar Valley, 1st Callington and 1st Par-St.Blazey & Fowey.
